The Department of Political Science and Public Administration was established in 2011 and the duration of education is 4 years. Students who graduate from the Department of Political Science and Public Administration are equipped with the knowledge and skills required by a manager in the public and private sectors, as well as a scientific perspective on social, political and intellectual issues.

Students who have graduated from another formal education institution at undergraduate or graduate level or who have left their education halfway are exempted from overlapping courses if the content of the courses they have taken in the programme they are affiliated with is appropriate.
Programme Profile
The undergraduate curriculum of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration not only focuses on the basic aspects of public administration (constitutional law, administrative law, administrative judiciary, public finance, local governments, history of Turkish administration, etc.) but also covers the technical aspects of administration (accounting, personnel management, economic and financial management, tax system, etc.). In addition to these, a rich and interdisciplinary programme is offered in terms of main branches of law (civil law, law of obligations, labour law, enforcement and bankruptcy law, international (private and public) law) as well as political science (introduction to political science, history of political thought, social structure of Turkey, contemporary state orders, political sociology, Turkish political life, etc.). In addition, students of the department have the opportunity to study at universities in Turkey and abroad for certain periods with Erasmus and Farabi programmes and to increase their knowledge and experience.
Occupational Profiles Of Graduates
Undergraduate students who will graduate from the Department of Public Administration will be able to work at various levels of central and provincial organisations, local governments, administrative judicial authorities, domestic and foreign policy areas. Depending on the work they do and the institution they will work in, they will be able to obtain titles such as governor, district governor, administrative judge, diplomat, undersecretary, inspector, etc., they will be able to work as civil servants and managers at various levels of the bureaucracy, and they will be sought after to be employed at the management levels of private sector organisations.

In order to graduate, students must have taken at least 240 ECTS credits in 8 semesters and achieved a diploma grade of 2.00 out of 4.00.

Access To Further Studies
In addition to master's and doctoral programmes in Political Science and Public Administration, Political Science and International Relations, Public Administration, other graduate programmes in the field of social and administrative sciences can be continued.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Examinations, assessment and grading are held according to the regulations arranged by the University Senate. There are one midterm and one final examination for each course. Examinations are written examinations however if necessary they can also be performed orally or by practice work. The evaluation of the weights of the courses is determined by the lecturer at the beginning of the semester. The weight of the final examination can not be less than 60%. The final evaluation is performed by the lecturer.
All students are required to perform summer practices as a part of graduation requirements. They must complete a summer practice of at least 40 working days in two seperate sessions. For the summer practice evaluation, students have to pass both from the summer practice report and presentation. During the summer practice presentations, each committe of lecturers evaluates the students performance separately and an average score is calculated for the student.
